Responsabilities: technical support for all 24/7 Real Media's products and education services to customers within entire Europe to increase customer satisfaction with emphasis on the UK market (UK, India, Middle East); Involved in pre- and post-sales support, customer training, projects for VIP customers, and solutions to improve functionality of 24/7 Real Medias products.
February 2007 - December 2007:
Systems Engineer at the Multimedia group of the Portuguese National Scientific Computing Foundation - FCCN, which is responsible for the design, management and operation of the Portuguese Research and Education Network. Besides that FCCN is also responsible for the management of the Internet country code top level domain .pt
The Multimedia group provides four major services to the Portuguese NREN community: Streaming (Windows Media Services and Darwin Streaming Server), Videoconference, VoD - Video on Demand and Web Hosting (IIS and Apache, MSSQL and MySQL). We also participate in national and international projects on the following fields: VoIP - Voice over IP, HDoIP - High Definition over IP, Videoconference and Collaborative software.
January 2006 - December 2006:
Software Engineer at the Internet Services group, IT department of the European Organization for Nuclear Research - CERN, the world's largest particle physics centre and where the World-Wide Web was born. Traineeship awarded by the Portuguese Innovation Agency - AdI under the Trainee Program established between AdI and CERN and funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology - FCT
The Internet Services group is in charge of providing desktop, messaging and web services for the CERN users' community. This implies the management of a large Windows-based infrastructure of approximately 6000 desktop PCs and 200 servers, hosting around 7300 websites and 17000 mailboxes.
February 2005 - December 2005:
Analysis and re-organization of patent documentation in the field of network security, part-time at the European Patent Office - EPO, in The Netherlands.
